  • Dear Parent or Guardian,

School Nurses are following the recommendations set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH). If you or any member of your household have been diagnosed with Covid 19, please do not send your child to school and contact the school nurse as soon as possible. A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for 15 minutes. People who live together and have ongoing contact are considered close contacts. If you live with someone who tests positive you will need to quarantine 14 days from the last day you were in close contact with the family member.

Please do not send your child to school with the following symptoms:

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • New cough
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Temperature 100 or greater, especially before attending school
    • Headache
    • Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting
    • Chills
    • Sore throat
    • Fatigue
    • Muscular pain
    • Congestion or runny nose

If your child presents to the nurse’s office with complaints of the above symptoms, the nurse will do a complete assessment and if needed she will call the parent to come and get the student. Our goal is to identify students who may be positive for the virus and isolate the student.  We will then request an evaluation by your child’s healthcare provider and a note saying when the child may return to school. If your child was diagnosed with a positive Covid test, close contacts in the classroom may need to quarantine. Please let the school know as soon as possible if your child or anyone in the household tests positive. Any health information provided to the school nurse will be kept confidential.

Please contact the school nurse if you have any question

  • Effective June 1, all Lee County School campuses will reopen to the public. The current COVID pandemic has caused additional concerns and the need for greater infection control measures. You will notice some changes at our offices to help better protect you and our employees. Therefore, we are reopening with certain restrictions in place. Those restrictions include:

    ·         Limit the number of visitors in the lobby. We ask that you call before you come to a school or district office. We encourage you to schedule an appointment to ensure your business may be addressed in an efficient manner and to minimize wait times.

    ·         If you are sick, please do not enter any school or district office. Remain at home and call us to address your school business.

In the interest of public health and safety, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

    ·         Wear a face covering upon entering a school or district office. Keep it on when in the lobby and hallways.

    ·         Maintain social distancing. Keep at least six feet between yourself and others throughout the buildings.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our campuses.
