  • ABC for Students

A short time ago, Governor Ivey announced her intention to extend the ABC for Students Program until June 30, 2021 to enable continued distance learning by eligible Alabama schoolchildren during the second semester of school. This extension is made possible by the new Coronavirus response law that extends the use of CARES Act funds, which was signed by President Trump on Sunday, December 27th.

Due to this extension, the ABC for Students Program will be able to continue providing Alabama students with internet service. Households who redeemed their vouchers this fall will continue to receive service through June 30, 2021.

Households who redeemed their vouchers this fall will not need to take any action to continue their service and service should continue uninterrupted through June 30 for the internet service provided by ABC for Students. On June 30, support for internet service through the ABC for Students Program will automatically discontinue.
