There is no application to apply--just send an e-mail to email@example.com and write a 500-1,000 word essay on the topic "Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals." - ALABAMA STUDENT GRANT PROGRAM
UPDATED 9-1-16. Deadline to apply is September 15, 2016. Alabama residents who have lived in the State of Alabama for at least the past 12 months are eligible for an Alabama Student Grant. Award amount can be up to $1,200 per year. You must be enrolled full- or part-time at one of the following institutions to apply: Birmingham-Southern College, Concordia College, Faulkner University, Huntingdon College, Judson College, Miles College, Oakwood College, Samford University, Selma University, Southeastern Bible College, Southern Vocational College, Spring Hill College, Stillman College, or the University of Mobile. UPDATED 8-21-16. ONLY OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF AN ALCARH (ALABAMA COUNCIL FOR AFFORDABLE RURAL HOUSING) PROPERTY. Deadline for applications to be received is March 1, 2017. Scholarship amount is $1,500. You must have at least a "B" average. Applications will be judged on academic achievements, school attendance, work performance, career goals, extracurricular school activities, community activities, and other achievements. Scholarships in the amount of (up to) $5,000 will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, a chemically-related science, or chemical technology. Pre-med and pharmacy majors are not eligible to apply. You must be African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino to apply.
