Mrs. Manderson

Bienvenue!  I began teaching in 1997 officially in Texas outside of Dallas.  I then moved to Alabama, where I have taught at SSHS since 2008.  I am very excited to be teaching French once again here at SSHS.  The French program began in 2011 and is now back in full force!

I am a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The University of Louisiana-Monroe, formerly NLU. I double majored in Spanish and French while working at ULM's child development center and teaching part-time at Grace Episcopal School. I eventually moved to Grace full-time.

In my younger years, I traveled each summer on a scholarship. I was awarded the Sigma Delta Pi National Scholarship to study in Spain and the CODOFIL Scholarship awarded by the state of Louisiana to teachers of French. Additionally, I traveled to Mexico and Switzerland. I grew up traveling with my family for most of my formative years, stopping in Iowa long enough for me to have a "normal" high school experience.

I have been married to my best friend since 2007 and we have two boys, Beau, thirteen years old, and Cooper, eleven years old. Beau attends SSJHS where he plays football.  Cooper attends WSSES where he also plays football.
