SSHS Class of 1984' Graduate Bachelor of Science in Education Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology Highly Qualified Educator

Mrs. Cathy Rowan

Hello,

I am extremely blessed and honored to work and serve at Smiths Station High School among the best administration, faculty and staff as the Sophomore Guidance Counselor, 504 Coordinator, HOBY Coordinator as well as the Lee County Young Leaders Coordinator. This is my 26th year in education. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Troy University, grades K-6, along with a Master of Science degree in School Counseling and Psychology from Troy University, grades K-12.  I am also a Highly Qualified Educator.  At the beginning of my career I taught 5th and 6th grade, and while I love all the developmental stages, high school is by far my favorite!  Adolescence, while it is rewarding and challenging...it is my great honor to walk alongside my students to help guide them through this time in their life that shapes the future - whether that is college/career or guiding them through life/coping skills.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or phone if there is any way that I can be of assistance.

Just a little bit about me:  I am blessed, honored, and grateful to be a wife, mother, sister, daughter, educator and advocate for our SSHS students.  I love my family, friends, good humans, kindness, being kind, acceptance, good books, great coffee, the beach, mountains, the outdoors, hiking, walking, animals, fall and spring, music, live concerts, all things Auburn Tigers, cooking and bonfires.  My husband Jeff and I have been married for 11 years, and together we have 3 wonderful children, Kyndal, Luke, and Olivia...along with our precious four-legged fur babies - Della Mae, Nellie and Izzy.  I am a proud Smiths Station High School Alum, Class of 84'.  I am grateful and honored to serve our students, parents, faculty and staff here at Smiths Station High School, and the Lee County Community.
