  • Students interested in applying for the Got A Spine Scholarship must be attending a college or university no later than October of 2019.  They must have a GPA of a 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.  Apply at https://studentscholarships.org.scholarship/10634/got_a_spine_scholarship_scholarship.php  .  Deadline to apply is June 2, 2019.

  • Seniors interested in enrolling in Career & Technical Education programs for the Fall of 2019 can now apply for the Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program.  Eligibility requirements are as follows:  Completed High School or earned a high school equivalency credential by Spring 2019, must be enrolled in a 2 year or less career or technical degree/certificate program in the fall of 2019 that will lead to employment, attend a not for profit post secondary institution, deomonstrate financial need, applicants must be Pell Grant eligible, be under the age of 30, and be a united states citizen.  The website for further critera and to apply application.horatioalger.org  .First priority deadline is June 15, 2019  .  To research further please visit https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships/about-our-scholarship-programs/technical/ .

  • The Kids' Chance Scholarship is a fund that was established by workers' compensation section of the Alabama State Bar in 1992 to provude scholarships for college and technical school to students who have had a parent killed or permanently and totally disabled in and on the job occident.  The scholarhsip fund is administered by the Alabama Law Foundation Inc.  The deadline for submitting applications each year is May 1.  Students can complete an application on the foundations web site at www.alabamalawfoundation.org .  Scholarships are awarded in late June for the following academic year.  Students are also required to apply for financial aid from the college or technical school they will be attending. Please visit the Alabama Law Foundation website for more details.

  • The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Greater Auburn Opelika Chapter is now accepting applications for its 2019 scholarship program.  Scholarship applications are available to lhigh school students who will be transitioning to an accredited, post-secondary institution during the 2019-2020 school years.  Scholarship criteria are as follows: Must be a high school student transitioning to college, must have a minimum grade point average of a 2.5, must be accepted or planning to attend an accredited institutuin for the entire year, must be involved in community service within the past 12 months, online schooling does not qualify for this scholarship.  Factors considered include leadership, community involvement, financial need, academic achievement and an essay.  Applicants must submit a high resolution professional headshot photo via email.  Scholarship recipients will be required to take pictures accepting the scholarship.  Application deadline is Friday April 26, 2019 by 12 noon.  Applications available in the Guidance Office.

  • The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is an honorary society whose members are key women educators.  The Grant-In- Aid is a scholarship program sponsored by DKG, Beta Nu Chapter for students who are high school seniors or college students enrolled in a school of education or students who may be updating a degree with the intent on becoming an educator.  Students should have an overall B average in order to apply for the Grant-In-Aid.  The student will be required to write an essay of at least one page and have 2 letters of reference along with a high school transcript.  Please see Mrs. DeLucca in the guidance office for an application.  Application deadline is May 4, 2019

  • Mesothelioma Help Cancer scholarship for 2019 is now available.  Interested applicants must write an essay in response to one of the following prompts:

    1. Share your personal story dealing with asbestos disease or cancer. Talk about how it affected your life and how/whether it impacted your education/career choice. 2. What do you hope to do with the education you are receiving to help cancer patients? This scholarship is a great one for students interested in a medical career. There will be 4 prizes, ranging from $2500 for first place to $500 for fourth place.   • MG Law Office is offering a great scholarship opportunity that we want to be sure that your students are aware of and have the opportunity to apply for. The scholarship is available for high school seniors as well as any student pursuing a higher education. The scholarship application is creative and different than most that your students are likely filling out. We are asking that they create a 45-60 second video advertisement on the dangers of drunk driving. The winning ad will be selected based on quality, usability, effectiveness, creativity, and helpfulness to warn people about the dangers of drunk driving. There are more instructions on the application itself.   Deadline is July 1, 2019.

  • Tommy Smith started the Tommy Smith Scholarship because he remembers how hard it was to go to college, balance a part-time job, and have a social life during his college years. This scholarship is to show students that there are people who understand all that they have to do to get an education. The scholarship is worth $1000 and only requires a 500-word essay on a specific topic to apply. Please find all details below. Be a high school senior that has been accepted into a college or university Be a current college or university student.
