Hi! My name is Kelsie Hughes, and the 22-23 school year will be my 6th year teaching at SSHS. I teach US History 10, AP Government and Politics, and Sociology.

I graduated from SSHS in 2011, and I love being back at home! I graduated from Columbus State University in 2017 with a BA in history and secondary education, along with a certificate in international studies. I studied abroad in two different countries and had the privilege to teach at charity schools and an international academy along the way. I then earned a master's degree in history and secondary education from the University of West Alabama in 2020, and an EdS in teacher leadership in 2022.
