Degrees and Certifications:
Masters in Secondary English Education from Faulkner University BS Degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising from Auburn University
This year will be my eighth year teaching, but it will be my fifth year teaching at Beauregard High School and in Lee County. During my first two years of teaching, I taught at Tate High in Pensacola, Florida. I taught Freshman English, Debate, Debate II, Advanced Debate, Mock Trial, and I was the Mock Trial Coach where we placed 6th at State. The following year I taught 9th grade Creative Writing and Credit Recovery at Auburn Jr. High School. During my first year at BHS, I taught English 12 and English 11 as well as an ACT Prep course, and the following year I taught English 11 and English 12. The past two years I have taught English 10 and English 12, and last year I also taught Public Speaking. This year I will be teaching English 10 and Public Speaking as well as teaching Virtual School for English 9th-12th. I'm excited to continue teaching at Beauregard High and hope to inspire students to be successful adults in their future endeavors.
Before I became an English teacher, I obtained a degree in Fashion Design and was a manager for the Under Armour Outlet store in Orlando, Florida. While I desired to pursue a job in fashion design, the second profession that I wanted to pursue was teaching. Thus, after working in retail for many years, I decided to return to school and obtain a Masters in Secondary English Education. I'm glad that I chose this profession, and I have no regrets.
During my free time, I enjoy attending church and attending Auburn football games as well as reading, exercising, painting, traveling to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
