Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Jamie Williams

This is my 22nd year as an educator, and my second year at SSHS. I have taught at nine different schools and have taught every science under the Sun as well as P.E. and Health. I have a bachelor's degree in Science Education from Auburn University. I also have a master's degree in Administration of Higher Education from Auburn University and just added another master's degree in Educational Leadhersip from Arkansas State University.

I grew up in near-by Union Springs, Alabama (it's close to Hurtsboro). I played football, basketball, baseball and tennis in high school. I walked-on (no scholarship) and played football at Auburn University as a quarterback and defensive back. I was a member of the 1993 undefeated Auburn team. An injury led me to giving up football and got me into the world of coaching. I have coached football, basketball, softball, track, tennis and golf in my 22 years. I believe that what makes you good in sports makes you good in the classroom: your willingness to prepare, not merely the will to want to do good.

I am married with three children and live in the Opelika Area.
