Mrs. Rebecca Holt

I am extremely blessed to serve all of our students and staff here at Smiths Station High School as one of the two full-time school nurses here within our school. This is my 7th year in school nursing in which 5 of those I have been here at SSHS.

I was born and raised in a small rural town in Sumter County, Alabama where I graduated from Sumter Academy in 2005. I attended Auburn University immediately and received my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2012. War Eagle!  I graduated from Southern Union State Community College in 2012 with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. I immediately started working in the hospital setting and continued doing so until 2016 before pursuing the school nursing venture. I received my BSN in 2018 and Masters in Nursing Education in 2019, both from the University of North Alabama.

In 2016, I ventured away from the hospital setting to pursue a different avenue in nursing. I am very thankful for this opportunity and my decision to pursue this career because of the self-fulfillment it provides and the many endeavors this career path has offered.  My goal is to promote and provide holistic, safe, and appropriate nursing care in the school setting to anyone in need in order to ensure their optimal potential and performance is reflective and accurate of an encouraged, healthy and safe individual.

I enjoy getting to know the students here at SSHS and assisting them in any way possible. Nurse Barnes and myself maintain an open door policy here amongst the halls of the school and encourage each and every one, students, parents, faculty and staff to stop by or reach out to us anytime!
