Mrs. Marcia Hillsman

My name is Marcia Hillsman, and I am ACCESS Facilitator at Beauregard High School. I manage the computer lab while students are taking ACCESS classes. I also am Building Testing Coordinator.

I am a 1982 graduate of Adrian High School. I attended Georgia Southern University and received my Bachelor of Education degree in Middle Grades Education in 1985, and my Master of Education degree in 1987. I received my Specialist in Education degree from Georgia College in 1991. I taught 7th grade reading and English from 1985-2001. I had the opportunity in 2001 to come out of the classroom and help lead a school improvement initiative in the middle school I had worked in for 13 years. I was Instructional Facilitator at Elder Middle School in Sandersville, Georgia, until my husband and I moved to Hazlehurst, Georgia, in 2010. I continued working in school improvement at both Hawkinsville High School and Jeff Davis Elementary School until 2015 when I retired after 30 years in Georgia.  Upon retirement in Georgia, my husband, John Hillsman (band director at Beauregard High School) and I had the opportunity to move to Lee County. We both love Beauregard High School and are very thankful that we work with such great students and staff.

We have two children, Ryan Clanton and Hailey Hillsman, a daughter-in-law, Heather Penley Clanton, and a son-in-law, Derek Kuhlman. Our grandsons are Rhett, John Troy, and Jiles Clanton and Knox Kuhlman. Another very important family member is our five-year-old Border Collie, Jencee Lynn.
