Damian Sinclair, Principal
Greetings, Sanford Hornet Family!
My name is Damian Sinclair and I am a native of Crowley, Louisiana. I am one of nine children born to the late Joseph and Helen Sinclair. After graduating from Crowley High school, I attended Mississippi Valley State University and majored in Business Administration Management. I have earned degrees from Belhaven College, Troy University, and working on completing my PhD from Auburn University.
Before moving into the field of education, I spent 8 years in the private sector working in the banking and finance industry. Subsequently, after eight years in the financial services industry, I joined the distinguished ranks of becoming a teacher.
I began teaching at Jim Hill High School in Jackson, MS as a math teacher. After a year, our family moved to Auburn and I was hired by Lee County Schools. I started at Loachapoka High (LHS) teaching Business/Marketing in Career Technical Education. While at LHS, I also coached baseball, football, and softball. In 2013, I accepted my first administrative position as the assistant principal at Smiths Station Junior High School. For the past 5 years, I served as an assistant principal at Auburn High School. Now, I am blessed and excited to be the principal of Sanford Middle School in the amazing community of Beauregard.
I have worn many "hats" as an educator serving as a business marketing/math teacher, coach, administrator, mentor, counselor, and in many situations a father to many young people throughout my tenure as an educator. I guess you can say my passion for educating young people is an important adventure that I do not take lightly.
My mission in education is to assist young people in reaching their potential by helping them make good choices in life and to become productive citizens in the communities where they live.
I am so fortunate to be able to do what I love to do because of the support of my wife, Kenyetta and the rest of my family. We have 4 awesome children: Braxton (21), Jalyn (18), Jordan (16) and Kaitlyn (10).
My hobbies and special interests include: Playing sports, hunting, fishing, cooking, spending time with family, playing musical instruments, speaking, and serving others.
I am looking forward to my second year as the principal of Sanford Middle School. Let's work together to build each other and this amazing community up..."Catch the STING!"
