Chris Cox is the assistant band director at Smiths Station High School and Smiths Station Junior High School. He currently oversees the percussion department, grades 7-12, assists with the "Panther Spirit" marching band, and co-teaches the Intermediate Band and beginner bands at the Junior High School. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. During his time at Auburn, Mr. Cox was a member of the Auburn University Drumline, Auburn University Percussion Ensemble, and Auburn University Jazz Band, as well as being principal percussionist of the Auburn University Concert Band. 

Mr. Cox is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Alabama Music Educator's Association, and the Percussive Arts Society. He lives in Auburn with his wife, Mary Grace, and enjoys serving at his church, Lakeview Baptist.
