Emily Godwin is a native of Prattville, Alabama. After graduating from Prattville High School in 2016, she attended the University of Montevallo. At Montevallo, she studied multimedia journalism and public relations. She graduated with a bachelor’s of science in mass communication with a minor in public relations in May of 2020.

After graduating, she was the social media and marketing manager of a small business located in Prattville. In 2021, she shifted from a career in business to education after a year in that role. Prior to this position at Beauregard High School, she worked at Stephens Elementary in Alexander City, Alabama.

While in school at Montevallo, Ms. Godwin worked in various roles on the campus news broadcast and interned for a public relations firm in Homewood, Alabama. She helped create posts and respond to clients on social media for various clients.

Ms. Godwin is serving in her third year as a teacher at Beauregard High School and her fourth year as a public school educator.

Ms. Godwin now resides in Auburn with her dogs, Finn and Sophie.
