Welcome to Smiths Station Freshman Center!  My name is Susan Solomine and my students refer to me as Señora “So-lo-me-neh”.  This will be my first year here at the Freshman Center and I look forward to sharing my passion for language acquisition. 

I grew up as a military child and moved a lot.  I had lived in three different countries by the time I was five years old!  We settled in New York where I received my BA in Spanish Secondary Education and my MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).  

Teaching means the world to me, especially the connections we make with our students. I hope to create a great classroom community where our students feel safe and supported so that they can comfortably take risks in speaking a foreign language.
