Master's in Kinesiology from the University of Alabama

Bryant Garrison

I grew up loving and playing sports at Marion County High School in Guin, AL while earning All-State honors in three (Football, Basketball, and Baseball), and was ultimately inducted into the 2012 Marion County Sports Hall of Fame. I then continued to play Junior College Baseball for one year at Bevill State Community College before attending and graduating from the University of Alabama with a Master's in Kinesiology.

While attending the University of Alabama, I was hired as an Equipment Manager in 2004 on Coach Mike Shula's staff. When he left in 2007, Coach Saban was hired, and I was promoted to a graduate assistant position with Coach Kirby Smart (Defensive Backs/Safeties). I also worked extensively in the weight room with Coach Scott Cochran for the next 3 years, and I was a part of the 2009 SEC and National Championship Team.

I have ten years of experience coaching at the high school level.  After my first on-the-field position at Lincoln High School (AL), I would move on to Hampton High School in Hampton, GA.  While building a program from the ground up, I served as the quarterbacks and running backs coach on offense, secondary coach on defense, as well as the Defensive Coordinator and Special Team Coordinator all on the varsity level.  In 2019, the team was able to accumulate the most wins the program has ever had, while also reaching the playoffs for the first time in the school’s history.  From 2019-2022, I was the Head of Strength and Conditioning for football as well as the Defensive Coordinator at Central Gwinnett High School and was named Gwinnett County Assistant Coach of the Year.

I am so honored to be the Head Football Coach here at Smiths Station High School.  We want to establish an ELITE PROGRAM that creates a culture and environment to develop athletes into quality football players, students, and people.  Our goal is to have a system in place to be the most disciplined and well-organized team, that will allow us to compete each year regardless of the obstacles we face.  We strive to have a Championship Everyday Attitude coupled with a 4th and 1 Mentality.  The principles and values that we uphold will always be the standard for us to play as a team, with relentless energy and passion.

My family and I are so blessed by the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing school and community.  My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for 8 years, and we have 1 son, Brody.  She is an X-ray technologist at Kaiser Permanente and Brody is in Kindergarten at Philadelphia Baptist Church. We are so grateful and excited to be a part of the Smiths Station Football family and community!  We cannot wait to see what the future holds!
