My name is Ms. Jenny Lovvorn. I just moved to Opelika in July 2023 to be closer to family, and I am very excited to join the Loachapoka Elementary team as a 2nd grade teacher! I have a bachelor’s degree from Samford in Elementary Education, a master’s degree from California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo in Curriculum and Instruction, and an added master’s certification from Auburn in Educational Leadership. This will be my 23rd year in elementary education.

My two children are both in college, so I have an empty nest. My son, Will, is a sophomore Western Carolina University, where he plays the baritone in the band. He is majoring in Health Science. My daughter, Lila, is a freshman at the University of New Mexico. She is majoring in Psychology with minors in Studio Art and Spanish. I also have a dog and a cat.

I love waking up early, coffee, reading, writing, knitting, walking, singing, and being with friends and family. My favorite spot is the back porch swing. 

2nd Grade is the very best! I cannot wait to meet the students and get started on it all with my  team of excellent teachers here at Loachapoka. Our class will strive every day to strengthen our literacy and math skills. We will work hard and be kind to one another every day. It is going to be a great year!
