Ms. Yvonne Padgett

Hello!  This year, 2023-2024, is my first year in the Lee County school system in Alabama. I have taught at Eufaula High School (my alma mater), at Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia, and at Pataula Charter Academy in Edison, Georgia.  This year is my 29th year of teaching. I have a full schedule of 10th English classes which I co-teach with Ms. Ferrell, and am a 10th grade sponsor.  Over the course of my teaching career I have taught 9th English, 10th English, 10th Honors English, 11th English, 11th Honors English, 12th English, Applied Communications I and II, Expository Writing, Speech, Theater Arts, Algebra 1, Linear Algebra, Math Tech, Tools for College Success, and SAT Prep. I have also taught in the Upward Bound program and some English classes at Wallace College.

I grew up in Eufaula and spent most of my life there.  I have two grown daughters, Shanna Mayfield (Helena, AL) and Holly Bush (Eufaula); and two grandchildren, Lee and Noah Bush, who are the light of my life!  I am happy to be located close now to my brother Mike Padgett and his wife Diana, who live in Smiths Station.

I received my degrees from Troy University, my Bachelor's in English and Math Secondary Education, and my Master's in English Education with Administrative Endorsement.  My main activity outside of school is spending time with my family, but I also enjoy reading, walking, and listening to and playing music.
