Bio:

Sarah Kate Alsobrook is originally a native of the Dadeville/Lake Martin area, though later moving to Bowling Green, KY where she graduated from South Warren High School. Upon graduation, she attended Belmont University in the B.F.A Acting program and ultimately graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.A in Theatre and Performing Arts Administration. She is currently pursuing a M.A.T in Secondary English Language Arts at Columbus State University.

In her second year teaching in a K-12 school, this is Ms. Alsobrook's 8th year working in performing arts education. Since 2018, she has been a dance instructor at studios in both Kentucky and Alabama, teaching and developing curriculum. During this time, she worked on numerous productions in both local and university theater in positions such as performer, choreographer, stage manager, and Assistant Director. In 2021, she moved from Kentucky to Opelika, AL, where she began the non-profit theater company APAC in an effort to provide more theater opportunities to the community. She has now directed 5 musical and non-musical productions with APAC at the Southside Center for the Arts.

In addition to directing, Ms. Alsobrook has enjoyed the opportunities to participate in other theater projects. These include leading workshops at the Alabama Jr. Thespian Festival, adjudicating at The Walter Trumbauer High School Theater Festival, co-directing summer camps at Auburn Area Community Theatre, and choreographing the spring musicals at Benjamin Russell High School.

Ms. Alsobrook is a member of the Alabama Conference of Theatre, the American Association of Community Theatre, the Alabama Dance Council, and the New Play Exchange.

Outside the performing arts education realm, she enjoys spending her time reading, hiking, going to both concerts and professional theater productions, tap dancing, attempting to learn the saxophone, and with her cats Clarence and Gracie.
