My name is Catherine Scrushy, and this is my first year teaching at Smiths Station High School. Previously, I taught in both Russell County and Phoenix City Schools, but I am very excited to be teaching English 10 again. For my Bachelor's degree (Musical Theater), I attended Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. I realized my passion for teaching during my last year at Faulkner, so I decided to complete my Masters in Teaching, ELA 6-12, online through the University of West Alabama. I feel the most joy when my students can relate what we are doing in class to their own lives. When I am not in the classroom, I like to spend time with my cat (BB), my husband, and my two (both under 2 years old!) children.
