Kenni Christian Newman
Hello! I am so excited and honored to be your child's Special Education Teacher this year and look forward to a successful year! I enjoy providing specially designed instruction to all of my students and working to build relationships within the school environment to enhance their educational experience. I have taught Special Education to students (in 2nd - 6th grade) in the Lee County School System since 2005. I graduated with honors and have two degrees from Troy University in the areas of Elementary Education and Collaborative Special Education. I am passionate about my students' learning and the instructional differentiation needed to help them achieve goals and reach their greatest potential. This year we will focus on developing and providing instruction / intervention on educational, behavioral and/or functional goals within the school environment. And when appropriate (based on age/ability level), I will work towards developing or increasing your student's independence, self-confidence, self-advocacy, communication and/or social skills. I want my students, later in life, to become life-long learners that are successful and productive members of society.
I look forward to getting to know and building relationships with each of you, as we work together to support your child's progress, meet their individual goals/needs, and to make this an awesome year! I strongly believe that communication is important, and through student, parent, and teacher involvement, all students should succeed. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.
