Mrs. Alana Watson

My name is Alana Watson, and I am one of the lead pre-k special needs teachers and co-chair of our special education department.

Here is a little background info.   I attended Auburn University and have an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Special Education and Master’s degrees in Collaborative Education (with a concentration on Autism and Behavior Disorders) and Early Childhood Special Education. I recently completed my Education Specialist (Ed.S) in Collaborative Education (K-6).  I have been teaching since 2004 across 2 districts, and I have been blessed to be a part of ESSES since 2011.  I live in Salem and have 3 children; Gabriel, Evelyn, and AnnaLee. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family outdoors, and am also an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. My goal is to help families advocate for the needs of their children and to help families connect to resources available in the state and community.  I also truly feel called to serve through the individualized education of students with exceptional learning needs.

My contact information is watson.alana@lee.k12.al.us and the school phone number is 334-664-4061.
