Mrs. DeeDe Derissaint
My name is DeeDe Derissaint. I am excited to be teaching here at Beauregard Elementary.
I graduated summa cum laude from Troy State University in 2001, where I recevied my B.S. in Elementary Education and Collaborative Teaching. I have been teaching for 19 years, with 18 of those years being here in Lee County. I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and now Special Education K-4.
Teaching is something that I have wanted to do since I was in elementary school. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I love the feeling of helping a student to understand something. The look on their face when they "get it" is priceless.
I am from Anniston, Alabama. I graduated from Anniston High School. I have a husband named Fegens, a dog named Ubu, and a turtle named Hub.
I love Auburn football. War Eagle!!
I enjoy teaching, going to church, spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, playing card and board games, and going on mission trips to Haiti. I went on my first mission trip to Haiti in June of 2012. Since that first trip, I have gone on 8 more. My group and I work closely with an orphanage in Haiti. We have also purchased land to build a school. Right now we have a boys home with 8 boys currently living in it. These were boys who were either living on the streets or homes that they were not being cared for. They now have the opportunity to go to school and eat 3 meals a day. While making these trips I met my husband. We were married in November of 2015. We now are able to make trips together.
