B.S. in Physical Education Highly Qualified Certification in 6-12 Mathematics

Ms. Lancie Davis

I would like to start off the school year by introducing myself. My name is Lancie Georgann Davis and this is my 5th year teaching here at SSJHS, but my 14th year teaching Math. I graduated from Jacksonville State University where I received a Physical Education degree. I also have a highly qualified certificate in Mathematics. I have taught  high school level Algebra, Geometry(Pre-AP), Algebra 2(Pre-AP), Algebraic Connections, 8th Grade Math, 7th grade Math (Pre-AP), and 6th and 7th grade Math Strategies. I am currently teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra.

I have coached a high school tennis team and led them to the state finals.   I have also coached a Middle School Cheer squad. I am an Opelika High graduate where I was a cheerleader for 6 years and nationally ranked as a cheer All Star.   I also played varsity tennis for Opelika High for 4 years, winning the regional championship each year. I was awarded a college scholarship to play college tennis for 4 years, where I hold the record for most matches won by a college doubles team and placed 2nd overall in the singles competition. I have a beautiful 13-year-old little girl named Charlee MacAnn. My hobbies are grilling, fishing, tennis, art, and football. I absolutely love my profession and I hope I can share my enthusiasm and love for teaching to create a positive learning environment. My goal is to hopefully make my classroom the one every student looks forward to coming to each day.

I look so forward to this year and am extremely excited to continue my journey here at SSJHS. I am a firm believer in communication, so please feel free anytime to email me at davis.lancie@lee.k12.al.us.
