I grew up outside of Denver, Colorado, and resided there until 1987. At that time, I became involved in the commercial seafood industry, managing a wholesale-retail processing plant and distributorship. After several years, I opted to attend college and, after two years in Florida colleges, I wound up in Auburn for their world-class warm water Aquaculture Production and Fisheries Management program. I completed 2 degrees (B.Sc., M.Sc.), was on staff at the Auburn University Marine Extension and Research Center for nearly two years, and returned to Auburn for yet another graduate degree. 

I am entering my 20th year with Lee County Schools and 25th year in the field of education.

I am teaching Honors Biology, General Biology, Advanced Placement Biology, Research in Science, and Anatomy this year.

I have been married to Susan Pavek for over 30 years and have two children - Jessica, 37, an Engineer, and Jake, 25, a software designer.
