 I graduated from Dadeville High School in 1984.

I spent six years with The Army National Guard 111th Ordinance Group, Opelika.

I attended and graduated from Southern Union Community College in 2004 with an Associate in Science degree.

I then attended Troy State in Phenix City and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2008.

For my experience and knowledge, I received a Veterinary Assistance certificate from Penn Foster in 2012.

Experience

I received a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2021.

I began my career in education as a volunteer reading with students who were not at grade level at Beauregard Elementary School in 2003 and 2004. This "Read with Me Program" was offered two days a week. After that, I received my sublicenses and began subbing, which I did until 2008. I did numerous maternity leave and long-term sub jobs in various grade levels and Title I Reading Programs.

In 2009, I worked as a paraprofessional at Beauregard Elementary, and then in 2010, I filled a 4th-grade position.

2011-2012, I worked at Sanford Middle School as a paraprofessional.

In 2013, I worked at Beauregard High School as a paraprofessional.

My name is Kammy K. Gilmer, and I have been married for 26 years to my husband, Chuck. We have three children; our oldest, a boy, 25, was a submariner in the US Navy for seven years. Two non-identical twins, a girl, and a boy, 22. We live on a farm and grow half of what we eat. Most, if not all, vacations revolve around catching something to eat. We are all big supporters of the Boy Scouts Program. I have many hobbies, and they almost all have to do with the outdoors, although a good book or a movie on a rainy day is a relaxing time for me.

I am excited and looking forward to a year of learning about Science and Social Studies.
