Kristin DeLoach

My name is Kristin DeLoach.  I teach English 9, Honors English 9, and ACT Preparation.

I have lived in Lee County my entire life.  I went to school at Beauregard, then attended Southern Union State Community College before transferring and graduating from Auburn University with a degree in English Language Arts Education.  I taught at Central High School for the 2009-2010 school year, then moved closer to home at Smiths Station High School.  I have since earned a Master's Degree from UWA in English Language Arts Education.  I've been around for a lot of changes in Smiths Station--from teaching at the "old" high school to the Freshman Center to the "new" high school.

My husband and I have two children--a boy and a girl.  We have chickens, ducks, a yellow-bellied slider turtle, a ball python, and oftentimes a garden.  Some things I have enjoyed over the years include: going to church and learning about the word of God, spending time with family, reading, gardening, lounging in a good hammock, birdwatching, hiking, beachcombing, surf fishing, and learning about anything except math (sorry, math folks!).

As a teacher, I work hard each year to improve the content you learn, my teaching methods, and your learning methods.  I truly enjoy learning alongside my students and getting to know you as individuals.  I'm looking forward to a great year!
