I have been married to my husband, Justin, since 2008. We have a daughter, Lily, who was born in 2013, and a son, Luke, who was born in 2018. I attended Smiths Station schools, and I graduated in 2000. I was fortunate to be a student at the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE) from 2000 to 2006 where I earned two degrees: a bachelor of arts in English Literature, and a master of arts in Secondary Education Language Arts. In 2014 I earned my educational specialist degree from Columbus State University.
I taught in Phenix City Schools for nine years, and I transferred to Smiths Junior High in 2015. While in Phenix City I served as department and team leader, tennis coach, teacher mentor, awards day coordinator, STEM planning committee member, and various other leadership roles. At SSJH, I served as the yearbook adviser. At SSHS I am teaching 10th grade World Literature. I love teaching, and I am blessed to have a job where I motivate students to be their personal best. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, attending and serving at my church, shopping, spending time with my family, and taking trips to the beach.
