Degrees and Certifications:

Elizabeth McAdory

My name is Elizabeth McAdory. I absolutely love to read, and it's my goal to foster a love for reading in my students. This is my 32nd year teaching.  One goal for this school year is to help my students grow academically and become proficient in reading and writing. I hope they become lifelong learners. One of the best things about teaching is building relationships with my students and watching them grow into amazing people! I absolutely love connecting with former students. This inspires me to be a better teacher and a better person.

I am a graduate of Smiths Station High school. I am highly qualified with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University. I am certified to teach kindergarten - 6th grade. I have taught 6th grade reading for my entire career. I have also taught social studies, science, and math for several years, but teaching reading is my passion. It was an honor to be the 2022-2023 South SSES Teacher of the Year.

I have one son who is a senior at Auburn University. He is an avid golfer.

In my spare time I'm a photographer. It's fun to capture moments forever. Some other things I like to do are spend time with family, write poetry, color, hang out with friends, study my Bible, and read.
