    ONCE YOU COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION, THERE ARE OTHER ITEMS REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF ALABAMA FOR NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION. SEE THE REQUIRED ITEMS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.

    KINDERGARTEN / NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

    All parents will need to visit their local school to begin the registration process during the Kindergarten registration window. Please check with your local school for dates and times. To be enrolled in Kindergarten, a child must be five (5) years old on or before September 2nd of the school year for which they are enrolling.  To be enrolled in First Grade, a child must be six (6) years old on or before December 31st of the school year for which they are enrolling.

     

    OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

    The Alabama State Department of Education requires several things for a child to be officially enrolled in kindergarten.  You will need to have all the following:

    1. Birth Certificate

    2. Social Security Card (optional)

    3. Alabama Certificate of Immunization (with valid expiration date) This form MUST be generated from the Alabama ImmPrint State Database. If your child is 5 years old at the time of registration, all immunizations MUST be up-to-date.

    4. Two (2) Current proofs of address. Must provide: one current utility bill (power, water, gas, cable, or Home phone), Plus one: property tax record, apartment/home lease, or mortgage statement. A driver's license CANNOT be used as proof of address. If you are living with someone and do not have these items, please see the residency affidavit requirements.

    5. Three (3) emergency contact persons other than parents with valid phone numbers. We ask that numbers be updated at the school, when changes occur so parents/guardians can always be contacted.

    6. Parent's driver's license or picture ID.

    7. Please provide any Custody or Guardianship papers if applicable.

    All items must be completed before a student is enrolled and assigned a teacher for the upcoming school year. We look forward to seeing you at registration!
