Rising 10th Graders 23-24 Course Selection Info
It’s time to think about what classes you want to take at SSHS for the 2023-2024 school year. This is important, because once you make your selections, you might not be able to change them later.
First, look over the Course Selection Guide to see what classes interest you.You should discuss with your parent/guardian and teachers.

You can also use the Course Selection Worksheet to help (you will be asked to make your own copy and you will also get a paper copy). Rising 10th Grade Course Selection Sheet
You will pick 1 English, 1 Math, 1 Science, and 1 Social Studies class, plus Health and Drivers Ed. You will also need to think about 3 “first choice” electives - the classes that you most want to take, and 4 “alternate” electives - classes different from your top 3 in case your first choices are not available.
Many classes have prerequisites listed. Look at these when thinking about your classes, because if you don’t meet them, you will not be scheduled for the course. Some classes have an application process. The links for some of those are below and others will be announced later.
Instructions for entering course requests will be sent out on Feb. 27th, and you will be able to enter them in PowerSchool that week.
The deadline for submitting course requests in PowerSchool is MARCH 3rd. After that day, you will not be able to change your requests until draft schedules are given out. If you do not submit your course requests by the deadline, you will forfeit your opportunity to select your classes.
