Camp Good Grief
Camp Good Grief is a FREE day camp- held April 6th- for kids/teens ages 5-18 who have experienced the death of a loved one. They believe that grief is a journey and that it changes from year to year so there is absolutely no time frame as to when the death/loss occurred, they just want to help support them and validate feelings as they progress along their grief journey. Also, Camp Good Grief gives each kid/teen the opportunity to spend the day honoring their loved one, which is always a good thing. Additional info: Campers are split up into groups based on age and gender and everything they do at Camp Good Grief has a therapeutic meaning to it that allows them to understand different aspects of grief and how to cope with loss. A parent/caregiver session is held towards the end of camp and they encourage participation so that the “grownups” know what they have been up to throughout the day.
