• Parents/Guardians,

I hope the new school year finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

In all classes this fall, I will be using class notes (provided) in combination with digital resources and will deliver instruction "face-to-face" and via Google Classroom (assignments). Your child is familiar with the program and knows how to access it. I have already added your child to the course.

I attempt to run this class like a college course. Many assignments will involve reading from materials I will upload to Classroom and answering questions in their own words. Your child will have several major projects to be completed using the Internet and their chromebooks. My goal is for little paper to be exchanged this year; classwork will almost exclusively be assigned and submitted electronically.

Class assignment due dates will be staggered throughout the week, and your child will be made aware of these deadlines. Late work will always be accepted, though there may be a point reduction dependent upon why the assignment was late. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If students fall behind, I will contact you, so you can help to motivate your child.

If your child participates in class, completes assignments, and STUDIES their notes, he/she will stay on pace, they will learn the content, and they will have a good grade. If they do not stay on task, they will fall behind, and could fail the course. To me, this is not an option and, frankly, inexcusable.

Finally, I ask that your child keep their phone secured during class. I have a zero tolerance policy regarding cell phones; they will be confiscated and returned ONLY TO YOU if I deem it necessary to take your child's phone from them for violating policy. Every student at LHS is issued a Chromebook making cell phones unnecessary at any time during the school day.

Please help me to help your child succeed.
