    Grades:  Pre-K -6 grade: 576 students   
    Faculty and Staff: 6  Kindergarten teachers,  6 first grade teachers,  4 second grade teachers, 4 third grade teachers, 4 fourth grade teachers, 4 fifth grade teachers, and 5 sixth grade teachers,    3 physical education teachers, 5 special education teachers, 2 speech pathologists, 1 counselor, 2 administrators, 1 reading coach,  1 math coach,1 media specialist, and 1 behavior interventionist.
    70% of all certified personnel hold advanced degrees; all teachers are highly qualified with the following specialty training:  ARI, AMSTI, and Positive Behavior Support.

    South Smiths Station is an AdvancEd accredited school.

    Our school works diligently to meet the individual needs of our students.  We use research-based programs and strategies, and we integrate various technology-based activities into our daily instruction.

                   South Smiths Station Elementary School encourages participation in a variety of clubs and activities which help our students to develop their academic and social skills.  Many programs have been established to promote good citizenship, cooperation, responsibility, and a positive attitude.  Such activities include:   Beta Club, Robotics Club, News Crew, Flag Team, Too Cool For Drugs Program, and a Before and After School Enrichment Program.

    South Smiths Station's motto is "PAWS- Putting learning first, Achieving academic Excellence, Working to do our best, Striving for success," and we believe that our team approach to teaching and learning is the key element to student achievement. We meet weekly to discuss and plan strategies to ensure that our students are making improvements in all areas.  Together, we challenge and prepare our students academically to be successful, responsible, and productive citizens in an ever-changing world.
